About Habcare
Habcare, Inc. was created in 1990 to operate a semi-independent facility for individuals of the Sikeston Regional Center, Missouri Department of Mental Health. Habcare’s outcome-based programming proved extremely successful at helping individuals to live and work within their community at the highest level of independency, which is safe and appropriate. This first effort became the foundation for the development of individualized supported living programs throughout Southeast Missouri. Currently, Habcare is licensed through the Missouri Department Health to provide Individualized Support Services to its consumers 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
About Individualized Supported Living
Individuals with developmental disabilities have a right to make responsible decisions consistent with the choices afforded to non-disabled citizens. These decisions include, within attainable means, living in homes and neighborhoods of their choice, with persons of their choosing. These settings and life styles will allow people to pursue their own interests, express their individuality, and actively participate in their communities. To exercise these rights, individuals with developmental disabilities may need uniquely individualized assistance. Habcare's Direct Care Professionals support individuals with all their daily needs including, medication administration, going to doctor appointments, grocery shopping, budgeting, meal preparation, dietary restrictions, overnight oversight, personal assistance, obtaining employment, attending community events, etc...
Service Definition
Supported living is a coordinated system of supports centering on the individual, designed to facilitate each person’s choices to live, work, learn, and actively participate with non-disabled peers in the community. These supports might include training, protective oversight, physical assistance, or environmental adaptations. Individuals with developmental disabilities, regardless of their level of competence or degree of physical or behavioral challenge, can benefit from supported living.
About Habcare Support Staff

This training includes The Level I Medication Aide (LIMA), MANDT, TOOLS, CPR, First Aid, Abuse and Neglect, Confidentiality/ HIPPA, Universal Precautions, Diet and Nutrition, Safety, Person-Centered Planning, and Behavioral Supports. These trainings are followed throughout the year with in-service training updates, when deemed necessary.
